Review: Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pur Couture The Mats #205 Prune Virgin

YSL lipsticks... De naam alleen al doet vele beauty-liefhebbers het water in de mond komen. De Rouge Voluptés worden overal gehyped, maar eens aan het switchen in Ici Paris XL, blaasje deze collectie me helemaal niet van m'n sokken. De Rouge Pur Coutures daarentegen wel. Online bestelde ik deze beauty!

My favourite lip combinations!

Lippen: lipgloss, lippenstift, ... ze worden vaak vergeten bij het dagelijks creëren van een make-uplook. Ik ben een échte fan van lipproducten en vind dat ze een look helemaal kunnen afmaken. 
Hier zijn mijn twee favoriete lipcombinaties, met mijn favoriete MAC lipsticks & Catrice lipglossen.

I really love my lipproducts and I think they can finish off a make-uplook beautifully. 

Here are my two favourite lipcombinations, 

with my favourite MAC lipsticks and Catrice lipglosses.

Het gaat hier over mijn twee favoriete MAC lipsticks, namelijk Angel & Candy Yum Yum (CYY). Beiden kan je zien in deze (één van onze eerste) haul.

The perfect nude lipcombination
Wanneer ik de perfecte nude lip wil creëren, ga ik steeds voor deze twee! MAC Angel met daarboven Catrice "Rose Would You, ...?". Het geeft een mooie, zachtroze nudekleur die niet te opvallend is en dus bij elke ooglook mooi staat.

Deze combo kon je ook hier al zien.

When I want to wear the perfect nude lip, I always go for these two!
MAC Angel paired with Catrice "Rose Would You, ...?" gives a beautiful, soft pinky-nude that suits every eye look.

Neon pink lipcombination

Candy Yum Yum is een van mijn favoriete zomerkleuren. Hij is mat en daarom erg langhoudend, maar soms wil je toch wat glans in je leven ;D

Daarom is de combinatie met de Catrice lipgloss in Pink Twice een prachtige combinatie!

Het fluoroze van CYY samen met de felle fuschia gloss, die een blauw/paarse iridescence heeft, is gewoon fantastisch samen! 

CYY is one of my favourite summer lipcolours. It's matte and therefor longlasting, but sometimes a girl needs some shine in her life! That's why this lipstick looks beautiful paired with the Catrice Pink Twice lipgloss!
The neonpink CYY together with the bright fuschia gloss with a blue/purple iridescence, looks amazing together!

HAUL: MAC!

Nog voor ik los ging in Sephora, CVS & Ulta in Florida, bracht ik samen met Veerle een bezoekje aan MAC. Ik denk dat het wel duidelijk is dat ik mezelf een paar maanden moet bannen van make-upaankopen. Hopelijk kan ik braaf blijven en opnieuw wat minder uitgeven ;D

Even before I did the USA make-up shopping, Veerle & I went to MAC.

Safe to say, I am banning myself from shopping for a couple of months.

Met het oog op mijn vakantie in Florida hield ik het (gelukkig) redelijk beperkt: vier producten waar ik lange tijd plezier van zal hebben!

Ik kocht twee oogproducten: een Vanilla pigment in de nieuwe "Size to go"-grootte en een oogschaduwpan in de kleur Texture.

Knowing I was going to go wild in the USA make-upaisles, I kept it to four items.
I bought two eyeproducts: a Vanilla pigment in the "Size to go" travel size and a eyeshadow pan in the colour Texture.

Ik kocht ook mijn eerste Mineralize Skin Finish, in de mega-gehypete kleur en Veerle's favoriet: Soft & Gentle. Dit is een champagnekleurige highlighter.

Mijn zoektocht naar een nude-kleur ging verder: ik ben op zoek naar the perfect nude die niet te roze, te bruin, te beige is. Ik denk het gevonden te hebben met deze Sheen Supreme lipstick in Supreme Style.

I bought one of the most hyped highlighters and Veerles favourite: Soft & Gentle Mineralize Skin Finish, which is a champagne-y colour.
I've been on the hunt for the perfect nude which isn't too beige, too brown or too pink and I think I found it in this new lipstick! It's Supreme Style, one of the Sheen Supreme lipsticks.

Ik ben erg blij met mijn aankopen, échte pareltjes zijn het!

Essence Lipliners (06 & 11) + Longlasting Lipstick (05 Dare to be Nude)

Essence, het is een merk dat ik vaak (al dan niet bewust) voorbijloop... Ik ben zeker een believer als het gaat om goedkope kwaliteitsproducten, maar zò goedkoop?

Enkele maanden geleden liet ik me dan toch verleiden, ik zocht enkele lippotloodjes voor in mijn make-upkit en waarom deze budgetlieverds geen kans geven?

Daarnaast was ik ook nog op zoek naar een nudebruine lipstick voor mijn visagie-examen.

What's new? Catrice spring/summer 2014!

Als je me een beetje kent, weet je dat ik houdt van de drogisterijmerken en met name van Catrice. Betaalbaar en kwaliteitsproducten, just what I like.
Om de zoveel tijd komt Catrice met een limited edition collectie, maar ook in de permanente collectie wordt geregeld huisgehouden. Zo gaat mijn lieveling Ultimate Colour Lipstick in 080 My Red Card uit het assortiment (inslaan met korting is de boodschap!).
Gelukkig komen er ook enkele nieuwe producten, let's take a look!

Ik heb vorig weekend een kleine citytrip gedaan naar Kopenhagen om mijn verjaardag te vieren! En zoals jullie misschien weten, is dit mijn shopping-walhalla! Een eerste haul-post gaat over alle make-up die ik in Sephora heb gekocht. Ik kan er denk ik nog eentje vullen met kleren en haar-producten, maar first things first: the make-up!

Review: MUA Matte Lipsticks

In mijn haul toonde ik deze al: twee matte MUA lipsticks in de kleuren Peachy Keen en Scarlet Siren. Voor €1,18 mogen we misschien niet al te veel verwachten, of toch?

Budget favorites: Bourjois Rouge Edition Lipsticks

Tijd voor een kleine stash-flash van mijn lievelingslipsticks!

Ik heb ondertussen 4 kleuren van de Bourjois Rouge edition lipsticks en hoogstwaarschijnlijk komen er nog een paar kleuren bij. Dit geweldig gamma heeft een ruime keuze, een lange houdbaarheid én ze drogen mijn lippen niet uit.

HAUL: Make-Up Academy (MUA)

Hi iedereen!

Lange tijd wilde ik enkele producten van MUA proberen. MUA staat voor Make-up Academy en is een Brits budget cosmeticamerk. Ik besloot nooit te bestellen vanwege de hoge verzendkosten (kom op, wie wilt er nu nog verzendkosten betalen?)
Onlangs hielden ze een online actie: gratis internationale verzending. Natuurlijk profiteerde ik hiervan!

I have been wanting to try out some MUA products for quite some time now. MUA is an affordable British cosmetic brand. 

Recently they had an online offer: free international shipping. Since the shipping was always holding me back from ordering, I HAD to order some products!

Het eerste dat ik bestelde waren twee blushes: een poederblush (Shade 2) en eentje in crèmevorm (Bittersweet).

De crèmeblush kostte €2,37 en de poederblush €1,18. De prijzen zijn wat random, maar dat is omdat het omgerekend wordt vanuit de pond. De poederblush kost dan namelijk £1.

L: Cream Blusher in Bittersweet - R: Powder Blusher in Shade 2

// I would like to have more variation in my blushes, but they always seem so expensive to me. Not in this case! The Powder blusher is only €1,18 (equals £1) and the Cream blusher is priced at €2,37.

Next up: twee lipsticks. 

Al geruime tijd ben ik op zoek naar een matte, rode lipstick voor een budgetprijsje. Die heb ik bij MUA gevonden! Daarnaast pikte ik ook een perzik (wat op de site nude-kleur leek) lippenstift op. 

Beide mat en €1,18. Geen geld!

L: Matte Lipstick in Peachy Keen - R: Matte Lipstick in Scarlet Siren

Rightaway I order Scarlet Siren (red) and 

Peachy Keen (a peachy, nude?). Both €1,18 each.

Als derde: enkele oogproducten.
Allereerst koos ik een Colourblast Eyeshadow Tint in de kleur Stay. Een creamy oogschaduw in potloodvorm, voor €3,55. 

Deze kocht ik met het oog op mijn Catrice Liquid Metal oogschaduw in We are the Champagnes, ik zocht namelijk nog een basis om deze kleur extra te laten uitkomen.

It's a cream eyeshadow in pencil form and costs €3,55.

Als ware neutrale oogschaduw-junkie kon dit palet natuurlijk ook niet ontbreken!

Het 12 Shade Undressed Palette heeft ondertussen al een opvolger, maar deze sprak me meer aan. Zowel matte als shimmery oogschaduws en dat voor €4,73 (minder dan het Catrice Absolute Nude palet).

// As a true neutral eyeshadow-junkie, I couldn't resist this palette. 

The 12 Shade Undressed Palette contains 

matte and shimmery shades, all for €4,73. There is a second version of this palette, but this one was more appealing to me.

Opnieuw een specifiek oogschaduwkleurtje waarnaar ik al lang op zoek was: een witte, shimmery (maar niet glitterende) kleur om als basis of highlighter te gebruiken. De Pearl Eyeshadow in Shade 2 was hiervoor de perfect match! Hij kostte €1,18.

// For a long time I was looking for a drugstore eyeshadow 

in a white, shimmery shade (not glittery!). I wanted it to use as a base, or as a inner tearduct highlighter. 

This one was the perfect match for only €1,18!

De laatste tijd heb ik zowat een penseelobsessie. Ik kocht al de Sigma-kit (waarvan een review zit aan te komen!), nu schafte ik nog twee MUA-penselen aan: een kleine duo-fibre F2 Stippling brush en een F6 Blusher & Contouring brush. Beiden €3,55.

// I am suffering from a brush obsession lately. 

Recently I've bought the Sigma brush kit (which is soon to be reviewed!) 

and now I have these two MUA brushes. 

A little duofibre brush called F2 Stippling Brush 

and the F6 Blusher & Contouring brush. Both priced at €3,55.

Last but not least en meteen het "duurste" product van ze allemaal: Pro-Base Makeup Fixing Mist. 
Je zag in mijn herfst shoplog al de Mario Badescu facial mist voorbijkomen, deze beviel me zo dat ik geïnteresseerd raakte in andere fixing sprays. Voor €5,92 kon ik deze niet laten liggen.

// Last but definitely not least and the most expensive of them all: Pro-Base Makeup Fixing Mist. I'm very interested in seeing how this one will work! I couldn't not order it, as it only costs €5,92.

Zo, dat was het! Al deze producten zijn verkrijgbaar op de MUA website.
Nu deze fotootjes gemaakt en gepost zijn, kan ik aan de slag met mijn nieuwe goodies !

Review: Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquer

In de VS kregen ze de naam "Show Offs" mee, maar wij kregen de leukere naam: Apocalips. Een lip lacquer: vloeiende lippenstift als het ware, met de kwaliteiten van een lipstain.
Rimmel beweerd "het beste van beide werelden: de intense kleur van een lipstick met een gladde lakachtige glans door een baanbrekende formule."
Als dat geen hoge verwachtingen schept... Maar worden die beloftes ook waargemaakt?

Face of the Day: Zomer/Werklook

Hi iedereen!

De laatste tijd hebben we in België erg kunnen genieten van heerlijk weer en ook voor een beautylover zoals mezelf betekent dit dat mijn make-up af en toe beperkt wordt tot een minimum. (lees: natuurlijke look)

Resultaat: een prachtige zomerlook, geschikt voor werk of elke andere situatie.
