Motivational: No Make-up Monday

Hi make-uplovers!

As our make-up challenge has come to an end, I thought it would be fun to do something a bit different: a blogpost all about not wearing make-up. 
Make-up is often seen as a mask, something which covers everything up and we can hide behind. But that's not what make-up is to me.

To me, make-up is all about being creative. Being able to change and transform yourself or just a little enhancement. The make-up I wear depends on the mood I am in. If I want to be sexy and bold, I will go for a smokey eye and red lip - if I'm going for the "natural beauty" look I will but on some mascara, concealer and blusher and I'm out the door.
Make-up can be so many different things and can make you look one thousand different ways. But it should never be a mask.

Ofcourse I have my ugly days, where I stand in front of the mirror & think "let's cover this up with some make-up!" or frankly just say to myself "man, you look ugly today". And when you have applied your make-up ever so flawlessly, it can really make you feel good about yourself. And it should. But if anything, please don't let your confidence depend on the amount of make-up you are wearing.

To be confident in make-up, should not mean you can not go without it. Because your face without the make-up is just as beautiful as it is with the products on your face.

Yes, you can see the blemishes, under eye circles and redness you may have got there. And yes, we all DO look a bit more tired without our daily dose of make-up. We may look tired and less flawless, but we are equally as beautiful.

If you tend to use make-up as a mask, a cover-up of everything you don't want to see: try to half the amount of products you are using, try skipping foundation, try to go outside without your make-up. Because you are beautiful, even if you have a pimple on your face.

Looks that didn't make it onto the blog...

Hi iedereen!

Nu ik zoveel met bloggen bezig ben en zowat elke look die ik maak ook fotografeer, zijn er ook enkele looks die niet op de blog verschijnen.

Waarom? Meestal omdat ze toch niet zo mooi overkomen op foto dan in real life, of omdat ik ze niet mooi genoeg vind om er een eigen blogpost aan te wijden. Dus waarom ze dan niet allemaal een gedeelde blogpost geven?

Vandaag spendeer ik mijn dag in het ziekenhuis. Niet voor mezelf, maar mijn vriend (operatie aan kruisband). Ik had geen blogpost klaarstaan voor vandaag & omdat ik toch onze (succesvolle, if I do say so myself) challenge niet wil doorbreken, vul ik vandaag een tag voor jullie in: de zeven dodelijke make-up zonden.

Today I'm spending my day at the hospital. My boyfriend has to get some knee-surgery. I didn't have a post ready for today but I don't want to skip a day of our challenge, so I'm posting a tag for you today!

The Seven Deadly Sins of Makeup

• Greed: What’s your most expensive beauty item?
• Wrath: What item do you have a love/hate relationship with?
• Gluttony: What brand takes up most of your collection?
• Sloth: What product do you neglect the most due to laziness?
• Pride: What product gives you the most confidence?
• Lust: Which item is top of your beauty wish list?
• Envy: Which makeup product/look is great on others but not on you?

Greed: I think this must be my Naked 3 palette I recently bought in Miami. Before that, I didn't really own anything high end - except for some MAC maybe.

Wrath: I definitely have a love/hate relationship with setting powders. As I have dry skin, I don't like the look of powder on my face at all. But when I skip powder, I notice my make-up wearing off throughout the day, I really need it to make my make-up last all day. Sigh. I try to use as little powder as possible and using a setting spray instead.

Gluttony: Hmm... I'm not really a brand-loyal person, whatever sparks my interest I will buy. I would have to count to be sure, but I think I may have the most of Catrice: an amazing, low budget brand.

Sloth: Usually I go for the full shebang, but when I really don't have time I will skip eyeshadow. If my skin is looking good I will only use concealer instead of foundation and only go for cream blush instead of topping it off with a powder blush. 

Pride: Maybe a good winged eyeliner (I always work hard to perfect them, so if it looks good I'm definitely proud of myself ;D. Also a bright lip will always boost my confidence.

Lust: Well, since my trip to the USA I must say I am not lusting over any make-upproduct that much. However I would love to own a beautifully packaged, Yves Saint Laurent lipstick. 

Envy: Difficult, because I like to wear whatever the heck I want ;p As I previously said, setting powders don't really look good on me. I don't mean to say "I look good with everything" because that's not true, but off the top of my head I can not think of anything other than maybe the brown/beige and mauve liptones?

30 day make-up challenge: week THREE!

As we are getting closer to the beginning of school, it's getting clear to me that I wouldn't be able to keep this kind of schedule during schoolmonths. 
However, I LOVE to blog & to be blogging everyday and seeing your reactions has made my day - every day! 
The faces of the day are most convenient for me to do, as I do my make-up (almost) every day, so why not take a picture of it? As all fellow bloggers will know, reviews ask a lot more time out of the day, so in the future I will try to make sure I find some time in the weekends to review a product for you!

Toen ik in de USA was en alle mooie Urban Decay producten live kon bewonderen (en aanraken!), sprong Naked 3 er voor mij echt uit! Die MOEST mee naar huis!
Hij is een echte favoriet geworden, vandaag een uitgebreide review!

Hi lovies!

Het is altijd fijn om met make-up te oefenen, te proberen, ... Maar aan het einde van de dag vind ik het altijd fijn om mijn make-up er ook helemaal terug af te kunnen halen.

Hiervoor gebruik ik mijn favoriet: de Albert Heijn oog en lip reinigingslotion.

Als verjaardagscadeau verwenden m'n schoonouders me met dit mooi setje: zes glide-on eye pencils waarvan vijf exclusief voor deze kit.
